History

Parokya ni San Jose Educational Foundation Inc. (Saint Joseph Parochial School of Cavite) is located in Caytitinga I, Alfonso, Cavite. This is the only Catholic Parochial School in the Municipality of Alfonso and has been rendering its service since 2001 to the community and to its nearby barangays.

The Saint Joseph Parochial School of Cavite had been founded in the year 2001 thru the initiative of the first parish administrator of Saint Joseph Quasi Parish, Rev. Fr. Gilberto D. Urubio. Together with the Saint Joseph Caytitinga Parish Foundation Inc. whose members and officers are all parishioners of the community of Caytitinga, Father Urubio dreamt and started working out the possibilities of establishing a Catholic parochial learning institution.

After being informed of the noble objectives, the generous and concerned parishioners and other individuals charitably shared their resources to make the said dream achievable. The school started as stock/profit institution.

In the year 2001, the school year had formally begun with eleven kinder students. The administration was headed by Fr. Urubio himself with Ms. Consuelo C. Alvarez as the first principal. When Ms. Alvarez left for abroad in 2002, Ms. Soledad Cosino assumed the responsibility as principal for a year. However, Ms. Cosino has to leave the position and later on was assumed by Ms. Manolita D. Salazar in the year 2003.

The administration of the school continued as the second school director, Rev. Fr. Lino N. De Castro never ceased to extend his service in educating the young ones in 2003. His passion for academic excellence had drawn him to continue the grade school department of the institution. He served as director of the school for 6 years. He collaboratively worked with Mrs. Salazar from 2003 to 2008 and with Ms. Alvarez from 2008 to 2009 in the administration of the school. The first graduation of 11 grade six students was held in the year 2008. The SJPSC continues to develop its effective and efficient ways of ministering the students with its third school director, Rev. Fr. Alain P. Manalo. His directorship started in the year 2009 until 2015. His zeal and giftedness in the field of management and education make the school progresses more and more. He was then sharing the responsibility of providing quality Catholic education with Ms. Alvarez for a year. In the year 2010, Ms. Christine Joy A. Caisip was then appointed as the Head Teacher to assume the responsibility of the principal. Mrs. Caisip’s hard work and dedication to SJPSC had been witnessed by the whole community for three years.

In the year 2010, the school was officially converted from stock to nonstock profit organization and the administration was officially turned-over to the Diocese of Imus. The establishment of high school department occurred in the year 2011 with 15 freshmen students. In 2011, the completion of the construction of two-storey grade school building took place. The government recognition of both Pre-Elementary and Elementary Courses have been granted in the year 2012. In the year 2013, Ms. Edengrace B. Austria was appointed as the school principal. She then continues the quality service started by her predecessors. She had been working with Fr. Alain Manalo in the school administration for almost 4 years. In November 2014, the Government Recognition of the complete secondary course had been officially served and granted.

As the school significantly progresses, Parochial School Council has been established to assist the school in fulfilling its noble task thru promotion and relevant fund raising projects. Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System (DICES) continuously assists in the holistic improvement of the school’s curriculum. Professional development programs for school personnel have been established and well-participated by the teachers and staff which made them more competent in their tasks at hand. K-12 Curriculum, Understanding by Design (UBD), Dynamic Learning Program (DLP), Standards Based Assessment (SBA), Center for Educational Measurement (CEM) standardized tests, and Digital Grading System have been adopted and implemented by the school which enable the school to effectively deliver good quality instructions to the students. Several DICES activities like Sports for Peace, JEEPGY Leadership Camp and San Pedro Calungsod Mission pilgrimage have been attended by the students. In April 2015, the school has been certified by PEAC-FAPE which in turn makes the incoming grade seven students and their teachers receive the government financial subsidy through ESC and TSS programs. In July 2015, Rev. Fr. Ariel A. Delos Reyes has been appointed as the new school director. His passion in providing quality Catholic education and his excellence in managing human resources make the school progresses more.

Nowadays, the school serves hundreds of students from pre-elementary department to high school department and still counting. The school will never cease in the actualization of its very purpose – to be an educational arm of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Imus in realizing the quality Catholic Education in the whole Christian Catholic Community.
